Last Saturday, 20th July 2013 D8110 worked a couple of trips to Totnes in the early evening as a possible farewell trip as we are currently negotiating with HNRC for the twenty to return to mainline freight duties in based in the North. Who would have thought over 50 years later it would be head hunted to come out of retirement and go back to mainline work! We are hoping to get 37 275 in it's place. Alan kindly brewed some excellent beers for the occasion and after my Mail on Sunday experience you will notice the "seminars" are a little muted, the only one to brave some serious bellowing was of course Baz!

Pete and I went to maintain and drive D7612 at the GCR for their small Sulzer weekend on the 15th and 16th of June. It was a good weekend with all the loco's running well. Pics © Myself.
Our original Class 25, D7612 has now been outshopped after some remedial attention prior to it's forthcoming visit to the Great Central Railway at Loughborough for the summer. A lot of dents and accident damage have been removed and replaced with new steel to combat filler cracking problems we've had in the past. The loco has had it's original highland line token catcher recesses refitted. This loco was supplied with them but as far as we're aware never carried the gear. It was then completely repainted in it's original two tone green livery. The loco now looks stunning and is a big credit to all who were involved with it.
As I write this, the loco is on a low loader on it's way to loughborough.

Congratulations to Alan for passing out to drive the class 33 over the Thomas weekend. The 33 performed well over all three days, with a nice rake of seven to give it something to think about.
Our original Class 25, D7612 has been "stopped" for some remedial attention, rust removal etc. Whilst we're at it though, we've decided to refit the token catcher recesses to match D8110. D7612 was one of only a very few class 25s to be built with them, as it was to be designated to Eastfield in Glasgow. At that time the highland lines had automatic token changing apparatus.
